Sports vs. Trauma
Participation in team sports as a young person can significantly reduce the long-term likelihood of depression and anxiety for people with childhood trauma. But, the growing cost of youth team sports means that they can be off-limits to those who may need them most: children living in poverty.
Dream Team Boxing: C.O.A.C.H Geno Toney
L.A.V.A. Athletics believes in and supports this organization with full confidence. This free program is offered to youth in grades preschool-12. Boxing is a skills-building tool that can heal youth struggling with self-confidence and anxiety. Abused children may use this sport to cope with the trauma of being hurt by loved ones.. Rape victims suffering from PTSD may rebuild strength because the ability to protect themselves was stripped from them.

Sports vs. Technology
"Sport is science... this is evident from the numerical movements and force that
compels it, but Technology is the application of Science. " -- C.O.A.C.H. Bentley
Drone Club
Today, the presence and influence of drones can be seen in almost every aspect of life. In sports, drones improve the ability for coaches to assess the game giving them a bird's eye view to help improve strategy. For the fans, the vantage point enhances the pleasure of sports and takes the creative mind to unimaginable heights. Our Action Director C.O.A.C.H. Bryant Dickerson has created a platform for students to use their genius to complement sport and science off the playing field. Our "Drone Club" has teamed up with the University of Akron and AkroTech High School.
